BIM would like to invite tenders to provide project management and labour associated with this seaweed project for the period 2018-2020 to carry out field analysis, hatchery manipulation and pre-commercial growth of Porphyra umbilicalis on suitable substrates at sea and in the hatchery. Growth trials of wild harvested Palmaria palmata in tanks will be carried out. Also to produce sufficient culture material (Alaria esculenta and Saccharina latissima) for spraying 10kms collector string with the remaining culture stock to be made available to industry for their own spraying of 10kms culture string (may be exceeded depending on market demand). The work is to be carried out in Ireland. The duration of the proposed work is February 2018 to December 2020.
