The Department of Justice and Equality through the Reception and Integration Agency (RIA) wishes to invite expressions of interest from persons interested in providing accommodation and ancillary services on an urgent and emergency basis, in the state, for persons seeking international protection. This call for expressions of interest is in response to an urgent and increasing demand for accommodation and related services and any contract awarded will be for a 12 month period only. This call for expressions of interest is seeking additional premises to those currently under contract with the Department. A public tendering procedure will take place in 2018 to cover accommodation needs arising from mid-2018 onwards.

Description of the procurement

The Department of Justice and Equality through the Reception and Integration Agency (RIA) wishes to invite expressions of interest from persons interested in providing accommodation and ancillary services on an urgent and emergency basis, in the state, for persons seeking international protection. This call for expressions of interest is in response to an urgent and increasing demand for accommodation and related services and any contract awarded will be for a 12 month period only. This call for expressions of interest is seeking additional premises to those currently under contract with the Department. A public tendering procedure will take place in 2018 to cover accommodation needs arising from mid-2018 onwards.
The type of premises required includes Hotels, Guesthouses, etc., which can accommodate a minimum of 80 persons and which should be reasonably close to all services, shops, schools, transport etc. The premises in question should largely conform to the relevant recommendations in the McMahon report which can be found under the What's New/Notice Board Section on www.ria.gov.ie
RIA intends to identify from the expressions of interest the most appropriate accommodation centre or centres to meet this emergency need for accommodation services for people seeking international protection.
The expressions of interest will be assessed on the basis of conformity with the McMahon Report and the time required before a premises can be used to accommodate persons.
