Short description

Request for Tenders for the Supply of a Pilot Plant for Drying of sticky/highly viscous food materials for Moorepark Technology Limited (MTL), Teagasc. Stabilisation of foodstuffs through drying is a key area for MTL and Teagasc. Drying, in general, is an important unit operation for Irish food industries as it significantly increases shelf-life of food-stuffs and allows for export to worldwide markets. However, drying technologies can be energy intensive and also may have limitations for drying highly viscous and/or sticky foodstuffs (e.g. spray drying). MTL stakeholders recognise that novel drying technologies are of key importance to the development of sustainable food manufacturing processes. Therefore, MTL wishes to engage a supplier of processing technology to deliver a novel low-energy, small-footprint drying technology capable of drying viscous and sticky foodstuffs
