Short description
The Main Contract Works involves the construction of a new four storey grandstand building of approximately 10,500m2 including an atrium space, jockey and racing professional's facilities, restaurants, bars, premier members lounge, hospitality suites, broadcasting and media facilities, external terraces and seated viewing areas and associated back of house facilities.
The new grandstand will be covered by a visually dynamic cantilevering roof structure. A new single storey entrance arm which includes a ticketing area, reception, museum/exhibition space (including the reconstruction of a section of the 1850's grandstand wall and cast iron columns) and café bistro with a patio area will be constructed and includes a canopy structure which connects the entrance area to the main entrance of the grandstand.

Description of the procurement
The Main Contract Works involves the construction of a new four storey grandstand building of approximately 10,500m2 including an atrium space, jockey and racing professional's facilities, restaurants, bars, premier members lounge, hospitality suites, broadcasting and media facilities, external terraces and seated viewing areas and associated back of house facilities.
The new grandstand will be covered by a visually dynamic cantilevering roof structure. A new single storey entrance arm which includes a ticketing area, reception, museum/exhibition space (including the reconstruction of a section of the 1850's grandstand wall and cast iron columns) and café bistro with a patio area will be constructed and includes a canopy structure which connects the entrance area to the main entrance of the grandstand.
All associated services, infrastructural works and ancillary facilities will be installed and will include the refurbishment and extension of the newly appointed energy centre building with an external chiller compound. Upgrades and remodelling of the existing landscaped areas will be required including new hard and soft landscaping, new children's playground, a new landscaped 'mound' to western end of the grandstand, retention of existing trees, retention and relocation of existing site features such as horse statues, improved grassed car parking areas and new car parking with permeable paving and grass-crete to some areas.
The contract also involves the final design of a number of elements of the works. Applicants must refer to and complete the QC1 questionnaire in relation to the design services required under this contract.
