Description of the procurement

CIE seeks to engage a single IT Managed Service Provider for the delivery of a
suite of SLA-governed Data Hosting and IT Managed Services (to ITIL standard)
from modern data centre facilities (to TIA-942 Tier3 or equivalent standard). For
business operational reasons the data centre locations for CIE principal
processing and disaster recovery sites should be accessible within 2 hours from
Dublin. A detailed scope of services is set out in the attached PQQ document.
The Service Provider may use sub-contractors, as appropriate, to ensure that
appropriate services are provided across all the required service areas while still
complying with the principle that the service provider assumes sole responsibility
for all service delivery. In addition the Service Provider will be responsible for
delivery of IT infrastructure projects during the term of the contract.
The Contract the subject of this competition is a contract for five years with an
option to extend by up to 24 months and for an additional 24 months up to a
maximum of 48 months at CIE’s discretion, subject to the terms and conditions of
the Contract. CIE will use the negotiated procedure to conduct this tender
process, further details of the procurement process can be reviewed in the
attached PQQ document.
The PQQ is available to download on www.etenders.gov.ie. Registration on this
site is free of charge and, once registered, users can locate the relevant notice,
express interest and access the associated PQQ document. CIÉ will not be
responsible for any costs incurred whatsoever by any person or body
participating in the PQQ or Tender stages of this procurement process.
