Short description
European Union Member States are obliged to transpose European Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom into national legislation in an accurate and timely manner and to communicate their national execution measures to the Commission by the 6th February 2018. With the transposition of this new legislation HIQA is to take on responsibility for regulating in this area, and be termed what is known as a Competent Authority. Consequentially HIQA’s Regulatory Support System, (PRISM), will need to be enhanced to support this new area of responsibility. HIQA envisages two phases of delivery of the required functionality; an initial phase for a 6th February delivery containing a minimal viable set of functionality and a subsequent phase to go live in June timeframe delivering the balance of the required but less urgent functionality.
