Description of the procurement
University of Limerick - The University of Limerick plans to purchase a Time-Resolved Fluorescence based Super-Resolution Imaging System (TRSRS) for the School of Natural Science at the University of Limerick. The TRSRS should combine confocal sample scanning, extraordinary spatial resolution offered by the stimulated emission depletion microscopy (STED) and the lifetime measurements.
The specifications below describe the minimum technical requirements and acceptable performance standards for the TRSRS for the imaging and analysis of a broad range of materials in support of research within the Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick (UL), Ireland. The TRSRS instrument will be installed by the contractor at the Bernal Institute. This system will be used by Bernal Institute personnel to analyse the samples provided by research groups from UL and other Universities as well as external industrial customers. The TRSRS will be placed in a multiple user facility and must provide ease of safe operation to those in the facility.
