Short description

Bord na Mona wishes to appoint a suitable service provider for the haulage of approximately 80,000 weighted tonnes of chipped wood logs produced by a log chipper. These woodchips will be required to be transported via walking floor trailer with delivery to Edenderry Power Station, Balllykilleen, Edenderry, Co. Offaly.
The logs are stored at 8 locations within 20km to 80km of the power plant. The logs in general will be in general average c. 30% moisture content but may range from 20% to 35% moisture and will be chipped direct to walking floor trailer. Sufficient capacity of plant must be available from the haulier in order to ensure maximum utilisation of the woodchipper generally between the hours of 8am to 5pm daily, Monday to Saturday.
Bord na Móna may decide to combine Chipping and Haulage if the commercials are beneficial to do so.
