Description of the procurement

The Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (“the Commission”) wishes to engage suppliers to provide Linen and Laundry Services for the Houses of the Oireachtas Restaurant (“the Restaurant”), Leinster House, Kildare Street, Dublin 2.
The Commission is responsible for the running of the Houses of the Oireachtas, or Irish Parliament, (Dáil Éireann, Seanad Éireann and Oireachtas Committees), and acts as governing body of the Office of the Houses of the Oireachtas Service (“the Service”) (further information is available at www.oireachtas.ie).
Tenderers should note that aside from routine requirements that the business of the House is often unpredictable and can result in sudden and immediate demand and for orders to be delivered on the same day.
The Houses of the Oireachtas Catering Facilities consists of a Members’ Restaurant, a self-service restaurant, a coffee dock and two bars (Members and visitors). These facilities fall within the responsibility of the Members Services, in the Houses of the Oireachtas Service and are operated by the Catering Manager and Bar Manager.
The Contracting Authority wishes to establish a Request for Tenders (RFT) for the supply of Linen and Laundry Services for a period of one year, with the option to annually renew for a further four (4) years. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to conclude any contract for the purposes of joining an Office of Government Procurement Framework.
Please note that the quantities of items shown in the Pricing Schedule in the Tender Response Document are to be used as guideline amounts and may fall or rise depending on demand. Neither do we guarantee to purchase to any specific level.
