Iarnrod Eireann (IE) is seeking expressions of interest from suitable candidates for carrying out Mast and Tower Maintenance & Inspection Services. There are approximately 140 Radio and 140 CCTV Masts and Towers on the IE telecommunications network. The IE telecoms tower infrastructure provides vital communications links to support the national transport network. There is also a third party facility provided for the mobile network operators at defined locations on selected towers. It is the responsibility of IE to maintain a record of the masts and towers including all associated equipment and to certify that they are structurally sound and safe to climb. IE wishes to engage the services of a contractor to carry out regular inspections and necessary maintenance on the masts and towers. It is proposed to establish a four year contract.

Description of the procurement

IE wishes to engage the services of a contractor to carry out regular inspections and necessary maintenance on the masts and towers. It is proposed to establish a 4 year contract. A detailed scope of services will be included as part of the Invitation To Tender documentation but set out below is a brief description of the scope of services. Please note that the scope may include but is not limited to the following: Site surveys Maintenance Inspections Structural and Wind loading analysis IE may also include the option of a minor repairs service and rigging works. It should be noted that the above services will include analysis and reporting of findings using MS Tower. The Contractor may also be required to be responsible for the project management and administration of certain aspects of the maintenance programme. A Pre Qualification Questionnaire is attached to this notice and available for download by candidates.
