Description of the procurement

An Post is seeking service providers who are in a position to provide a transportation service for parcels from the UK to Ireland.
The service requirement will be divided into two lots.
LOT 1 – Standard Groupage Service
• The service provider must be capable of transporting consignments of palletised mail (e.g. direct marketing mailing) from specified printer locations in the UK to An Post’s Dublin Mails Centre or Portlaoise Mails Centre in the Republic of Ireland.
• In some cases, the service provider must accept loads dropped-off in one of its regional depots to be transported to An to An Post’s Dublin Mails Centre or Portlaoise Mails Centre in the Republic of Ireland
LOT 2 – Line Haul of Ecommerce Parcels
• The service provider must be capable of collecting loads of parcels generated from ecommerce UK based retailers for Irish customers.
• The service provider must be able to guarantee next day delivery into Ireland (Dublin & Portlaoise) and Northern Ireland (Belfast or Craigavon)
• The service provider must be able to accept bags, pallets and loose loaded parcels.
• The service provider must be capable of providing a Customer Service function that can communicate directly with the An Post’s operations in a timely manner.
• The service provider must be able to offer out-of-hours collection services 7 days a week.
