Description of the procurement

Low cost innovative solutions that can monitor and predict blocked gullies in high risk flooding areas of Dublin (when a gully fills with water and overflows). We would like to develop a low cost, scalable solution adapted to the needs to the city, which will enable city staff to monitor gullies, collect data and analyse it. It should also be able to be integrated with other legacy systems present in the relevant sections.
We are seeking technology and data driven proposals that address the following areas:
- Enabling better targeted deployment of staff through real time reporting availability of flood events relating to blocked gullies - ensuring that staff is sent to the locations that need it most to offset the damages that flooding can have on properties, businesses and families; ensuring that the locations that we tend to first are the right ones at that time, considering that rain falls at different volumes during the same event in different locations.
- Receive real time data about pipelines (underground) to know when one is full and starting to overflow through the gullies.
- Receive real time information about rivers flowing over ground and draining through the nearest batch of gullies.
- Realtime info and alerts relating to surcharging mains pipelines which can lead to unseating of manhole covers and storm waters bubbling up through gullies when the system does not have sufficient capacity to take the volume of storm water draining to it.
