Short description

As part of the University of Limerick’s Bernal Project, which is focused on generating real impact for Ireland in the strategic areas of Pharmaceutical Science & Engineering, Modern Materials, Biomedical Materials and Engineering, Energy and Sustainable Environment, the University has acquired a top-of-the range transmission electron microscope (TEM). This will enable much required investigations on the atomic scale to be carried out on materials which are the major players in these areas. A recent Infrastructure award now enables the addition of capacities to this TEM, which will make its performance outstanding and unique, exhibited only by a handful of TEMs worldwide.
