Short description

Iarnrod Éireann (IÉ) wish to pre-qualify experienced and proven companies to tender for the construction of a new underbridge (UBC43A) at 18 miles 880 yards on the Dublin-Cork railway line.
The project will be carried out by Iarnród Éireann as enabling works for Kildare County Council to facilitate the construction of the combined M7 Osberstown Interchange and R407 Sallins Bypass Scheme.
The proposed R407 Sallins Bypass, a dual carriageway, will cross under the Cork Line at 18 miles 880 yards for which a new underbridge is to be constructed to accommodate same.
A full railway shutdown for 84-hours over the Easter period 2018 will be in place to facilitate installation of the bridge units and wingwall units.
The proposed construction duration will be 12 months.
A Pre-Qualification Questionnaire , and drawings to provide some overview information regarding the scope of the works as currently anticipated, are both attached to this notice.

Description of the procurement

• installation of rock socketed contiguous /secant piles and minipiles to form the temporary works zone to facilitate excavation of the railway embankment and installation of the proposed precast concrete units forming the twin-box structure.
• supply &/or construction of precast concrete units and installation of dual underpass structure (internal dimension for each underpass segmental unit is 10.8m wide x 5.88m high with floor, wall and roof thickness of 800mm)
• Associated fill to structures
• Precast wingwall structures
• Associated drainage works
• Numerous services diversions including signalling and esat cables.
