Additional information

The Enabling Works will be carried out within a live university campus environment, with open access to students, staff and the general public.
The works are subject to detailed design, but may typically comprise of the following:
- Construction of new construction entrance, including signalling, site entrance barrier and street lighting
- Construction of 2No. compacted stone (hardcore) zones, for temporary contactor parking and set down areas for Main Contract staff
- Resurfacing of existing compacted stone haul road from contractor entrance to near site entrance
- Laying of new watermain along haul road, typically HDPE pipe, circa 500m long
- Realignment works associated with existing road, and construction of new UCD campus road, including permanent surface, lighting, footpaths, junctions etc.
- Works to existing UCD Roebuck Hall access route, including realignment of fencing, repositioning structures and installation of grasscrete surface
- Diversion and realignment of existing services to facilitate future basement ramp construction
- Construction of 2 No. temporary carparks for campus usage (with circa 350No. spaces), with blacktop to circulation routes and hardcore finish to spaces; to include lighting, kerbs, road markings etc and associated soft landscaping
- Extension to existing foul sewer (typically 375mm Diameter, circa 300m long)
- Works to existing surface water system, including pond inlet interface works with existing pond, petrol interceptor and modifications to existing pond outfall
- Works to ESB services including; construction of new ESB sub-station adjacent existing substation including tying-in to existing, re-routing existing ESB mains cables and provision for new ESB cable ducting
- Rerouting of UCD power and lighting cables
- Works to existing 4 bar high pressure gas mains, including; laying of new gas mains and provision of capped connections for future Phase 1 Main Contract works
- Works to existing fibre optic & communication cables adjacent Phase 1 site
- Construction of circa 700m of hoarding to perimeter of Phase 1 Main Contract site; to include 1No. vehicle entrance gate and 1No. pedestrian entrance gate
- Construction of hard standing area for site compound with Phase 1 Main Contract site
Co-ordination of and liaising with all services utility providers, including ESB Networks, Irish Water, Gas Networks Ireland, UCD private utility services etc.
