Description of the procurement

IE are seeking expressions of interest from companies wishing to participate in a tender process for the design, supply, installation and support of a new rolling stock integrated Wi-Fi system. IE have provided free to access Wi-Fi services since 2011 and over this time the facility has proven to be an important component of the service delivery to its customers on both Commuter and Intercity services.
IE propose to replace the existing system with a modern, technologically enhanced, reliable and state of the art Wi-Fi system which will enhance the overall customer experience. The new upgraded Wi-Fi system will be integrated into approximately 170 train sets.
The WiFi system is to be fitted to all passenger fleets as follows:
29000 Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 29 sets of 4 cars;
2800 DMU 10 sets of 2 cars;
2600 DMU 8 sets of 2 cars;
Intercity Railcar (ICR) 22000 DMU 63 sets of 3/4/ and 5 fixed formation sets;
Mark 4 Passenger Carriages 8 sets of 7 cars;
8100 Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) 38 sets of 2 cars;
8500 EMU 4 sets of 4 cars;
8510 EMU 3 sets of 4 cars;
8520 EMU 10 sets of 4 cars.
Locations for the maintenance of the equipment will take place at the following depots:
Drogheda DMU depot, Co. Louth;
Inchicore Railway Works, Dublin;
Connolly Train Care Depot, Dublin;
Heuston Station, Dublin;
Cork Maintenance Depot, Cork;
Limerick Maintenance Depot, Limerick;
Portlaoise Train Care Depot, Portlaoise;
