Description of the procurement

An Post is seeking to enter into a Single Party Framework Agreement for each of the following lots for a period of 3 (three) years with an option to extend for a period up to a further 2 (two) years.
- Lot 1 – Mail Sacks
- Lot 2 – Cardboard Pallet Boxes
- Lot 3 – Warehouse Packing Accessories
Interested parties must:
1. Respond to the questions outlined in this PQQ with relevant and to the point responses.
2. Complete, sign and date the Bona Fides Declaration Document (attached as a separate document).
3. Demonstrate capability and experience in the specialist areas to meet the requirements and tight deadlines that are associated with these services.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
An Post’s 4 main Mail Centres (listed below) throughout the country act as hubs for the 1.6 million deliveries made daily. The following outlines a summary of the product requirements for the mail centres and other relevant operational area’s within the An Post mails network.
- Dublin Mail Centre
- Portlaoise Mail Centre
- Athlone Mail Centre
- Cork Mail Centre
Lot 1 – Mail Sacks
An Post use a number of different Woven Polypropylene Sack products for the sorting and handling of mails and parcels.
Lot 2 – Cardboard Pallet Boxes
Each of the 4 Mail Centres use Cardboard Pallet boxes on a daily basis.
The cardboard box specification outlined below has proven to provide An Post with a fit for purpose solution.
The Pallet box will have an open top. To one front face of the pallet box there will be one access area perforated (or similar) positioned approx. 30cm in from left edge and 30cm in from right edge on top horizontal and approx. 30cm deep. (This removable portion will allow for staff to cleanly remove the section and reach into low level of pallet box in a safe fashion).
