On site technical assistance during the installation works will be required and ESB may require the contractor to take responsibility for installation of the bags and cages. Details will be finalised
in tender documents.In addition an option will be included for the supply of Flue Gas Desulphurisation Fabric Filter Bags & Cages at West Offaly Power.

Description of the procurement

The proposed contract is for the supply of 4,000 P84/PTFE blend Fabric Filter Bags and 1,000 Cages for Lough Ree Power.
The Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD or DeSOx) Plant at ESB Lough Ree Power (100 MWe) includes a fabric filter consisting of four parallel filter chambers arranged in two rows of two on both sides of a central gas inlet/outlet plenum. The total number of bags in the Bag House in Lough Ree Power (LRP) is 3,872 and are manufactured from P84/PTFE blend. Bag length is approximately 8m. Bags hang from cell plates and are supported with anti-collapse cages and are arranged in a concentric pattern. The cages are assembled from three sections and are connected using clips. The clean gas plenum above the tube sheet houses the rotating cleaning manifolds which intermittently direct pulse air into the filter bags.
Lough Ree Power is located on the River Shannon, north end of Lough Ree and 136km north-west from Dublin.

Description of the procurement

An Option Price for the supply of 5,600 P84/PTFE blend Fabric Filter Bags and 1,400 Cages for West Offaly Power in 2018 is also included in this prequalification process.
West Offaly Power has a similar arrangement as Lough Ree Power but the total number of bags in the Bag House is 5,408.
West Offaly Power is located on the River Shannon, south of Lough Ree Power and 157km west from Dublin.
