An Post is seeking to enter into a Single Party Framework Agreement for each of
the following Lot’s for a period of 3 (three) years with an option to extend for a
period up to a further 2 (two) years.
Lot 1: Provision of Fixed Voice Services
Lot 2: Provision of Fixed and Wireless WAN Data Services
Lot 3: Provision of Data Centre Metro and Mail Centres Data Services
Lot 4: Provision of Mobile Data and Voice for Postal Operatives
Lot 5: Maintenance and Support of Cabling Infrastructure
The tender will be divided into LOTs. Interested parties may apply for all LOTs or

An Post are responsible for providing voice and data network services to 1,135 locations throughout the country of Ireland and mobile connectivity for 4,500 Postal Operative’s.
The primary data connectivity at 950 locations uses a mix of copper (mainly) and fibre access, 450 of these sites are classified business critical so have wireless backup. An additional 180 sites connect using ISDN dialup where wired broadband is not available in the area. Voice services in these site is delivered using mainly PSTN or ISDN, with150 of the sites using IP.
An Post has 3 data centres in the Dublin area housing the company’s server farms and hosting environments. The An Post managed MPLS Metro network uses 10Gb ethernet services, fibre channel circuits provide SAN connectivity. All 3 data centres have internet connectivity to meet hosting, user access and B2B VPN requirements
There are 4,500 postal operatives that use mobile handheld devices on a daily basis. These devices are used to provide up to date delivery and collection information and are also used to make and receive voice calls.
The networks physical cabling infrastructure at the 1,135 locations requires in the region of 500 adds/moves/changes and repairs per annum. This service is currently provided by a contracted cabling engineer who attends on site in Dublin regularly and countrywide when needed.
