Road Improvement Scheme (‘the overall scheme’). A Compulsory Purchase
Order (CPO) for lands required to construct the overall scheme was approved by
An Bord Pleanála in November 2015 and it is expected that the overall scheme
will be constructed in a number of contracts in the coming years. The acquisition
of lands required to construct the first contract (Lispole to Ballynasare Lower and
Ballygarret to Camp) is in progress and construction of this contract is scheduled
to commence in 2016.
The N86 Dingle to Camp Road Improvement Scheme consists of the balance of
the overall scheme and comprises four discreet sections as follows:
(i) Dingle to Lispole. This section of the scheme is approximately 10.7km in
length and extends from the eastern edge of Dingle town in the west, in the
townland of An Fearann, to a point east of Lispole village, in the townland of
Graigue (An Ghráig) in the east.
(ii) Ballynasare Lower to Annascaul. This section of the scheme is approximately
4.7km in length and extends from the townland of Ballynasare Lower (Baile na
Saor Íochtarach) in the west to the eastern edge of Annascaul village in the east.
(iii) Gortbreagoge to Ballygarret. This section of the scheme is approximately
9.6km in length and extends from a point in the townland of Gortbreagoge in the
west to the western edge of the townland of Ballygarret in the east.
(iv) Camp Upper to Camp Lower. This section of the scheme is approximately
1.3km in length and extends from Camp Village to the junction with the R560
