Short description

Waterford City and County Council, (the Council) is seeking to appoint an
organisation or business (the Contractor) to deliver a behaviour-change
programme to bring about higher levels of walking, cycling and the use of other
sustainable transport modes in their journeys to work and school. This piece of
work is being funded by the Department of Transport Tourism and Sport and the
Council and is supported by the Society of Motor Vehicles of Ireland Electric
Vehicles Group.
The area of interest for the programme is the city of Waterford and the town of
Dungarvan. The town of Dungarvan was previously chosen as a national pilot for
a “Smarter Travel” initiative entitled “Go Dungarvan” which is due to finish its five
year programme this year, so a substantial body of work has been done and
studied in this area and information related to this is contained with this tender.
