Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) invites Applications from suitably qualified companies to
participate in the Pre-Qualification process (1) To be appointed as IE
Aluminothermic Welding Process Supplier (2) for the Supply and delivery of
Aluminothermic welding consumables. The contract duration will be for a period of
three years (2016 – 2019) with the option to extend for a further two years.
Iarnród Éireann have a requirement for the welding of Railway steel rails in situ.
The estimated volume will be 3,000-5,000 welds per year with a possibility of
more. The contract involves the supply of welding consumables and moulds- for a
range of rail sections e.g. 50kg, 54kg and 60kg including wide gap welds.
Alternative technologies will be considered.Applicants must be ISO Certified and welding processes must conform to relevant European Standards e.g. EN14730.
