    Total quantity or scope:

    The Facility is located on Ballyogan Road, Jamestown Townland, Carrickmines, Dublin 18. The Landfill is a ‘raised’ landfill and covers an area of approximately 40 hectares. The capping works were completed in November 2009. There is an overland gas extraction system on approximately one-third of the landfill. The gas extraction system on the remaining two-thirds is underground. There is a gas combustion plant, a methane stripping plant and a small car park. There are streams bordering the Landfill. In addition, Ballyogan Stream, part of which is culverted, flows through the Landfill. It is envisaged that the Landfill will become a public amenity during the Contract period.

    The Recycling Park incorporates:

    a. A civic amenity, which is operated by a Contractor on behalf of the Contracting Authority.

    b. A waste reception facility, comprising of a waste reception hall, a baling hall and associated offices. The reception and baling halls are currently vacant.

    c. A stormwater wetlands, which is contained within a reinforced concrete structure. d. A section of the ‘Pale’ ditch, an archaeological site.

    A proportion of the monitoring locations lie outside the landfill boundary, in either land owned by the Contracting Authority or third parties. Summary of the number of current monitoring locations:
