Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) are seeking expressions of interest from experienced turn-key specialists in rolling stock engineering projects to provide a robust,

reliable and maintenance friendly replacement electrical/communications intercar jumper cable arrangement on a fleet of passenger carriages.

This requirement will involve the project management, design, supply, installation and approvals (internal and external) required to replace an existing

intercar jumper arrangement which has proven to be unsuitable in a regular vehicle coupling/decoupling application.

The new installation will be required to be both maintenance friendly and cost effective and will permit the maintenance function to make and break trainset

configurations with ease without any potential for damage or water ingress to the jumper or socket installation. The preferred arrangement will be a cam-lock

or similar positive action mechanical locking arrangement which requires no tools to operate and is not susceptible to incorrect mating causing damage to

either the jumper or socket arrangement.

The new arrangement will be required to be installed on both ends of 67 locomotive hauled passenger carriages and will cover multi-pin control circuitry,

    CCTV signal and Ethernet connections.
