    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    The Hydrometric and Groundwater Section of the EPA jointly operates a

    hydrometric network with the local authorities. The EPA also maintains the

    national groundwater monitoring network to facilitate assessment under the Water

    Framework Directive . Data loggers were initially installed on the network during

    the period 1999-2001 to replace autographic chart recorders. Telemetry was

    installed on a portion of the network in 2010 as this approach had the potential to

    improve efficiencies in relation to data collection. It is now proposed to install

    telemetry at all remaining locations on the surface water hydrometric network and

    on the groundwater level monitoring network.
