    Iarnród Éireann – Irish Rail (IÉ) operates railway services utilising locomotive,

    carriages, Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) and Electric Multiple Units (EMU).

    Maintenance of these fleets is carried out at our own depots.

    The Chief Mechanical Engineering Department (CME) of Iarnród Éireann has a

    four (4) year requirement for the replacement of external and internal glass panels

    and are seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced and qualified

    companies who can supply toughened, laminated and toughened laminated glass

    manufactured to IÉ drawings and railway passenger vehicle standards. There is

    also a separate requirement for specialised windscreens which may be curved

    and or heated.

    It is IÉ’s intention to divide its requirements into two (2) Lots as follows:

    Lot 1: Toughened and laminated glass for vehicle sides and interiors for

    passenger vehicles and;

    Lot 2: Windscreens for DMU, EMU and locomotives

    Economic operators may express an interest in participating in either or both lots.
