    ORIGINAL NOTICE 2015/S 123-226145 PUBLISHED ON 30.06.2015 HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND IS NOW REPLACED BY THIS NOTICE, DUE TO SPECIFICATION AMENDMENT.

    Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) invites applications from suitably qualified companies to

    participate in the pre-qualification process for the proposed tender for the supply

    and delivery of fixed and friction type buffer stops.

    It is IÉ policy to provide a friction or fixed buffer stops at the termination of every passenger running line, including bay platform lines and on

    freight lines and sidings where deemed necessary.

    The Supplier must currently have designs for fixed and friction buffers that are

    approved for use / currently in use on major European railway networks and the

    design must be suitable for a track gauge of 1602mm.

    The design must meet IÉ technical requirements and if not, it must have the

    necessary design approvals for modification to meet IÉ requirements.

    The Supplier must submit

    1.Detailed dimensioned drawings of typical buffer types proposed for supply,

    including braking elements and other part numbers must be provided with

    submission – Pass/Fail

    2. Calculations – each supplier must provide calculations demonstrating that the

    rolling stock listed in table 3 of the specification can be accommodated within the

    constraints provided in Table 4 of the specification – Pass/Fail

    3. Confirmation of ability to meet the requirements of Tables 1, 2 and Appendix 1

    of the specification must be provided with submission – Pass/Fail

    4. Certification of compliance with current versions of EN1090-1 & EN1090-2

    (EXC-3) must be provided with submission – Pass/Fail

    A copy of IÉ technical specification for friction type and fixed type buffer stops is attached to this notice.

    This will be a fixed price contract valid for three years with the option to extend annually for up to a maximum of two additional years.

    A PRE-QUALIFICATION QUESTIONNAIRE IS ALSO ATTACHED TO THIS NOTICE AND MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED.
