    Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Irish Rail-Iarnród Eireann

    is seeking to put in place a service provider for the

    provision of Merchant Card Acquiring Services to manage its credit card and

    debit card transaction processing for a period of 1 year with an option to renew

    for a further 1 year

    The Merchant Acquirer must be able to handle all Iarnród Eireann sales

    channels and be able to cater for its current and future passenger sales. The

    Merchant Acquirer must accommodate multiple sales channels including Booking

    Office, On Board Train sales, Online Ticket Sales, Phone Sales, Ticket Vending

    Machines and any future sales channels.

    The Merchant Acquirer must provide online access to historical and real-time

    transaction information, with capability to monitor exceptional items and export

    merchant statements. Iarnród Eireann require online access to a holistic view of

    transactions across multiple sales channels (ECommerce, POS, MOTO, etc) and

    all transactions should be traceable (link to the originating payment channel).

    The Merchant Acquirer must provide information on measures it uses in fraud

    prevention.Any future Merchant Card Acquiring Solution must be PCI compliant.

    Iarnród Eireann invites companies with prior experience in delivering Merchant

    Card Acquiring Services to other major retailers and/or transport companies. All

    applicants must be licensed by the Central Bank of Ireland or equivalent.

    The estimated volume of transactions to be processed per annum is in excess of

    2M transactions per annum.

    Any proposed solution should be capable of interfacing to PayWare Merchant

    Server Software or equivalent.

    While the initial contract will be with Iarnród Eireann / Irish Rail, other companies

    within the CIE Group may rely on this notice and PQQ in the future.

    As Online and card payment transactions continue to increase Irish Rail is seeking the services of a Card Payment Merchant Acquirer
