    Defence Forces Ireland provides medical care to all of its personnel via the Medical Services Branch. Medical care is delivered by Military Doctors, Nurses and other medical specialists.

    Defence Forces medical personnel operate from a number of military medical facilities (Curragh/Cork), clinics in Barracks/overseas installations and Saint Bricins Military Hospital (Dublin).

    Defence Forces Clinical Record management is paper based with consultation notes; test results etc recorded and retained in Medical Service staff controlled Medical Files.

    Administrative medical information is recorded in an individual medical administrative document which is retained by the individual soldier/patient’s Military Unit of employment. Administrative medical information is also recorded in the Medical Module of the DEFENCE FORCES Personnel Management System (PMS).
