    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) invites applications to participate in the pre-qualification

    process to appoint suitably qualified companies to a qualification system for the

    supply of high grade steel universal columns, beams, angles, channels, plate etc

    requirements that arise on an ad-hoc basis.

    Those companies successfully appointed to the Qualification System will receive

    all future tender enquiries.

    The steel must be rolled to grade S355J2 unless otherwise specified.

    Reclassified material will not be accepted.

    Please note the following:

    1. On and from 1 July 2013, under Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 of the

    European Parliament and of the Council laying down harmonised conditions for

    the marketing of construction products and repealing Council Directive

    89/106/EEC (external link) (known as the Construction Products Regulation or

    the “CPR”), CE marking will be mandatory for all construction products placed on

    the market for which harmonised standards are in place.

    2. All steel should be supplied directly from the suppliers premises – it may be

    sourced from elsewhere but if it is, it must first be inspected at the suppliers

    premises to ensure compliance with the specification

    The Qualification System will run from 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2018.

    The Pre-Qualification Notice attached to this notice must be completed as instructed and returned for review and evaluation.
