    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    The scope of services required by Kerry County Council consists of all services

    necessary or desirable for the purposeful management and delivery of Phases 3

    and 4 of the National Roads Authority (NRA)‘s Project Management Guidelines 2010 (NRA PMG 2010) in relation to the N70 Sneem to Blackwater Bridge Road Project.

    The project comprises of the on-line widening/realignment of the existing N70 to

    provide a Type 3 Single Carriageway Road with cycle facilities over a distance of

    approximately 4.4km.

    Approximately 1.55 km of the project has been improved in recent times and has

    a paved width which varies between 8.0m and 9.5m. There are no specific cyclist

    facilities at these locations. The quality of the remainder of the existing road is

    significantly poorer with substandard paved width, alignment and surface. These

    sections have not seen any significant improvement in recent times other than

    surface maintenance.
