IDS TILDA - Wave 3 and option for wave 4
Dublin 2
The Health Research Board (HRB) is the lead agency in Ireland supporting and
funding health research.
The HRB on behalf of the Department of Health (hereinafter referred to as
the “Department”) invites tenders by open competition.
The purpose of this tender is to invite applications to deliver Wave 3 and the
Option to deliver Wave 4 of IDS-TILDA over the next 3 year cycle and a further 3
year cycle for the Option linked to Wave 4. The IDS-TILDA study represents a
critical source of evidence to assist policy makers and programme planners to
better understand ageing for people with intellectual disability in Ireland across
time and across a large number of domains.
The goal of this next phase of IDS-TILDA is to continue the steady-state
longitudinal data collection, building on previous Waves 1 and 2, to:
• guide future planning, policies and services in ageing and disability in Ireland;
• to propose enhancements and/or additions to the content, measures and
methods used in previous waves of IDS-TILDA, where appropriate;
• serve as a driver and facilitator of other innovative research sub-studies;
• develop linkages and harmonisation efforts to enable comparative analyses
with national and international partners working in the area of disability and
ageing;
• enhance public access to data from Wave 3 and 4 of IDS-TILDA.
The maximum funding for Wave 3 is €600,000 (inclusive of VAT if applicable) and
the HRB will reserve the option to extend the contract for Wave 4 which may be
accepted or rejected by the HRB strictly at their sole discretion. The maximum
price for Wave 4 will be based on the maximum price for Wave 3 adjusted by any
movement in the Consumer Price Index using the date of the contract issued for
Wave 3 as the base date for the indexation.
