    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    This Crop Establishment contract may cover all aspects of work required to

    deliver a crop to a Free-Growing Standard as defined within this document. Works

    required in this contract are listed below:

     all manual, mechanical and maintenance operations.

     the supply of all materials including fencing, fertilisers, herbicides,

    pesticide for weevil control and plants for filling-in (Coillte will supply all plants for

    initial site planting).

     management of all on-site and associated establishment operations.

     monitoring the crop throughout the contract period.

    Forestry Crop Establishment and ground preparation operations - Work has been divided into geographic areas called BAU’s or Business Area Units. Within each BAU work has been further divided into lots. These lots are a package of work within the BAU and are associated with a particular cost centre or Operations Manager. Each of these lots will form a separate contract. The sites within these lots may be dispersed over the Forest Operations Manager’s geographic area. The tendered lots contains planned sites only and may be subject to change. Should this occur, the manager may, where possible, provide the contractor with an alternative site(s). A complete site listing is available per lot in the Proactis system.
