Section II: Object of the design contest/description of the project

II.1)

Description

II.1.1)

Consultancy Services for River Dargle Flood Scheme - Works Package B

II.1.2)

Short description:

The River Dargle Flood Defence Scheme consists of substantial river works, some of which have been completed under a previous contract. The previous construction contract was tendered in 2011, and works were carried out during 2012 and 2013.

The Scheme implementation is overseen by the Steering Committee consisting of senior OPW and Wicklow County Council personnel. The Scheme is funded by the OPW.

The scope of the services to be provided in this contract relates to the remaining works to be carried out, to complete the Scheme, commencing in the Summer of 2014.

The estimated notional value of the overall remaining works to be completed is €12million euros plus VAT and will take 22 months to complete. The notional construction value of the works to be designed in this package is in the order of €3.2 million euros plus VAT and will take 9 months to complete plus Defects Liability Period.
