    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    The Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology) is seeking to shortlist a maximum of 10 contractors who will be invited to tender for a Multi-functional Sports Building. The development will consist of a two storey multi-functional sports building with approximately gross floor area of 2500m2, car parking, ESB Substation, signage, landscaping and all associated site development works and services. Vehicular access to the development will be via the existing access road off Ballyloughane Road. The proposed development also includes new and improved pedestrian and bus stop facilities on Dublin Road, to include bus set down, bus shelters and pedestrian crossing. The building will likely cater for many indoor sports including basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and similar in a sports hall circa 1000 sqm with supporting ancillary spaces, changing facilities, stores, toilets etc, the building occasionally may also accommodate student gatherings and once off events.

    Maximum of 10 Main contractors provided sufficient pre-qualify. GMIT evaluation team will conduct a pre-qualification assessment process to identify a maximum of 10 highest scoring candidates, subject to their being sufficient numbers of prequalified applicants.
