    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    Tourism Ireland wishes to appoint a Destination Marketing / General Sales Agency for India. The agency, based in India, will report to the Asia Hub and be responsible for developing, co-ordinating and executing a comprehensive trade, publicity and marketing programme for the island of Ireland in India. The annual marketing plans are determined and agreed in conjunction with, and approved by, Tourism Ireland. A thorough knowledge of the tourism industry of the island of Ireland, along with in-market trade, marketing and media expertise is required to successfully undertake these services. The successful candidate must have an operational base in either Mumbai and/or New Delhi and a presence in both cities (as a minimum). The Contract Period will be for three (3) years with the option by Tourism Ireland to extend annually for up to a maximum further two (2) years, subject to budget and annual performance review, and other factors, determined by Tourism Ireland. The contract will be reviewed after an initial six (6) month probationary period. It is anticipated that work under the Contract will commence 1st June 2015.

    Description of particular conditions: 

    The successful candidate must have an operational base in either Mumbai and/or New Delhi and a presence in both cities (as a minimum). Fluent spoken and written English is essential. Applicants for this project must have an in-depth understanding of the Indian travel market and a strong, established relationship with key travel trade and media contacts in India. A knowledge of the island of Ireland as a tourism destination must also be demonstrated.

    The contract will be subject to Irish law.
