Cork Lower Harbour Main Drainage Scheme -Directional Drill Estuary Crossing

Irish Water is undertaking the Cork Lower Harbour Main Drainage Scheme to provide wastewater collection storage and treatment for the catchment area which includes the towns of Cobh, Passage West, Monkstown, Ringaskiddy, and Carrigaline and adjoining areas.
The project is divided into several contracts, the contract described herein is for the provision, trenchless laying and testing of 2 no. new 400mm diameter nominal bore, 1400m long gravity sewer pipes beneath a 1km wide body of open tidal water.

The Contract consists of the supply, construction and testing of 2 no new 400 mm diameter nominal bore, 1400m long pipelines suitable for the conveyance of sewage.
Due to environmental and planning restrictions no construction work may be carried out on the foreshores of either side of the estuary therefore, the pipelines must be laid using trenchless pipe-laying techniques.
This contract may coincide with works on the Networks Contracts. The start and end locations and levels will be specified to facilitate connection to the wider sewerage infrastructure that shall be upgraded/ constructed under other network contracts.
If any of the conditions set out in Regulation 53(1) of The European Communities (Award of Public Authorities Contracts) Regulations apply to the applicant, the applicant will be excluded from the competition.

A pre-qualification questionaire will be issued to all candidates who respond to this notice. Expressions of interest should be addressed in writing and sent via email for the attentiion of The Shared Services Procurement Manager ro rahern@bge.ie The questionaire will cover the financial, economic and technical capacity of the candidates. The questionaire must be completed and returned to the address in I.1. above not later than 17.00hrs Monday 29th September 2014. The responses will be used to assist in drawing up a tender list. This process may also include interviews with candidates. The contracting entity will not be responsible for any costs, charges or expenses incurred by candidates or tenderers relating to this contract award procedure.
