MK-04/16-01 - 3PL Logistics Service for the Fuels business

Bord na Móna is Ireland’s leading domestic fuel provider, supplying a wide variety of bituminous and smokeless fuel in high volumes in a dynamic market. Our distribution model is evolving to support our NPD agenda while also meeting the needs of our current product range including the iconic Bord na Mona Peat Briquette. This evolution will allow us to continue to expand and grow our Fuels business in order to meet and continually exceed our customer requirements. This will be supported by a new ERP platform. With this in mind, Bord na Móna is interested in developing a partnership with a suitable 3PL provider in order to develop, implement and manage a sustainable finished goods distribution operating model to assist and compliment the change and growth of the Fuels business into the future, in the most cost efficient manner available. - Our current operational model is served from 13 sites across Ireland. This model is also evolving and will be refined in the next two years. - We currently have operations in the following counties – Galway, Sligo, Tipperary, Offaly, Limerick, Dublin, Cork, Kerry and Louth. Distribution is a key component of this evolving model. The annual movement of product is in the region of 350,000 to 500,000 tonnes annually. Any prospective partner should be able to demonstrate experience of similar scale and scope to the above. In addition, Bord na Móna also supply convenience products e.g. Firelog, Firepak, Firelighter and a range wood products to the marketplace. Any skills or capabilities in terms of redistribution of this further range of retail products should also be outlined as this may come into consideration as part of a further stage of this engagement. Delivery of CI and in addition, a clear sustainability agenda should be key attributes of your partner profile, where you should be able to demonstrate key experience of both.
