T.046/2015 - Provision of Graphic Designer to provide Graphic Panels and exhibition Labels for An Garda Síochána in The Garda Museum

As part of the commemoration of the 1916 Easter Rising, the Garda Museum and Archives, are being redesign and re-housed in a new facility on site in Dublin Castle with additional new contemporary displays. When developed, the exhibition will constitute an attraction that will be unique in the country and will be of enormous interest to the educational/tourism sectors. It is aimed that in time, the exhibition shall be part of a programme of events and shall be promoted through brochures and publications. The aim is to design a contemporary, educational and interactive interpretive exhibition which outlines the past, present and future of the Garda Síochána as an organisation by using a chronological timeline between rooms, focusing on the key effects of policing on society throughout each time period, in accordance with museum standards. The target audience will focus on primary, secondary education scoters, local family visitors, national and international tourists and special interest groups. The first phase of the project, to repair and conserve the basement rooms, is underway. This work has been contracted and is being managed by the Office of Public Works, and scheduled to be complete by end of January 2016. The secondary phase of the works, fit out of the visitor spaces and interpretive exhibition within the building, will follow immediately after and is scheduled to be complete by end of March 2016.
