RH2196 - Ballinasloe Water Services Upgrade Contract No.2 and Street Enhancement Works

The proposed works are comprised of three main elements: 1. Street Enhancement Works: The complete upgrade/enhancement of Dunlo Street, Society Street and Main Street, approximate total length of streets 750m, comprising the following: Site clearance and demolition; Installation of pedestrian guard railings; Installation of new and relocated ducting; Assisting utilities with undergrounding of all overhead wires; Excavation works on streets; New pavements for streets including imprinted asphalt paving in parking areas and at the junction between the three streets and sections of irish limestone paving approaching pedestrian crossings; Kerbs footways and paved areas including large areas of irish limestone paving and kerbs to footways; Installation of traffic signs and road markings; Installation of three pedestrian (zebra) crossings; Installation of ornamental Street lighting columns and brackets and associated electrical works; Landscaping works including the planting of trees; Installation of new street furniture; All ancillary works. 2. Watermain Rehabilitation Works: These works will involve the construction of approximately 2.6km of polyethylene and ductile iron watermain pipework ranging in diamter from 63mm to 400mm and associated fittings to supplement or replace existing cast iron, AC, PE and uPVC watermains. The works include also installation of fittings and for replacing consumer connections including replacing consumer connections on an existing Cast Iron Watermain and all ancillary works. 3. Proposed Sewers – Ballinasloe Advance Main Drainage Scheme: These works will involve the installation of approximately 3.3km of foul, combined and surface water sewers at various locations in Ballinasloe. The sewers range in diameter from 150mm to 600mm and the works will involve associated fittings, consumer connections, manholes, other chambers and all ancillary works.
