Bord Iascaigh Mhara - Land Based Tank Trials 2016

The Aquaculture Technical Section of BIM undertakes trials with the Aquaculture Industry in accordance with the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and the National strategic Plan for Aquaculture. As part of this process it is planned to make provision to carry out land based tank trials (with adequate seawater supply) on any new potential treatments for salmon in respect of Amoebic Gill Disease and sea lice that may arise, along with providing facilities for a seaweed hatchery, lumpsucker and Nephrops and other species as may be required during the course of the year. BIM would now like to invite suitable tenders for provision of land based tank facilities initially until the end of 2016 with a possible renewal in 2017 subject to a performance review at the end of the first year and budget allocation.
