Detailed description:

Ireland 2016 (the Project) is a National Initiative, led by the Department of Arts, Heritage and The Gaeltacht. The Project is responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering a programme of activity for the 2016 centenary commemorations which will include national and international events, drawing inspiration from the ideals of 1916 and the events of that time. A State Event will be held for relatives of all of those who took park in the events of 1916, providing an opportunity for the families to reflect on the involvement of their ancestors and to mark the events of 1916.
