St Anthony’s Special School is located at Humbert Way, Castlebar, Co Mayo and was constructed in 2003 and caters for approx. 51 students with mild learning disabilities. An additional Classroom and store, and toilet facilities was added in 2013. The total accommodation consists of 6 No Classrooms, Home Economics Room, Woodwork room and store, Paramedical room and assisted WC/Shower facilities, Tuition Room, Parents room, Computer room, multi-sensory room, Comms room, Staff room, Kitchen, GP Hall, Dining room and servery, 9 No Disabled WC’s, stores, Administration Office, Principals Office, Cleaners store, boiler house and circulation areas, etc., in a single storey building with a pitch roof. Access to the roof space is provided by means of 2 No “Staira” type ladders, and the roof space is provided with a walkway down the centre of the roof. The scope of the works which shall be carried out shall include the provision of a new LPHW Space Heating system throughout the entire building, including the provision of a new LPG Gas fired boiler house installation, BMS Controls package, site mechanical services, etc., including the associated electrical works, builders attendances and the provision of additional attic insulation and raising the walk-way in the roof space.
