Commercial Concession to operate a Café at Herbert Park, Dublin 4.

Dublin City Council (DCC) is seeking tenders from competent established caterers for the operation of a newly refurbished café in Herbert Park, on a commercial concession basis. The use of the café is intended to enhance the attraction of the public amenity for the park’s many users and preference would be for quality, fresh, seasonal and locally sourced food. The café will have internal seating and a terrace for external seating. All submissions will be considered in line with the selection and award criteria described in this document. Dublin City Council proposes to award a commercial concession for the operation of the café for four years, with the option to extend for a further two periods of one year each (maximum six years in total). The concessionaire shall have an exclusive right to provide the service in the defined catering area. The concessionaire will be expected to achieve their earnings by maximising trade through pro-active and commercial management, and as such are expected to be proactive in promoting the café and Herbert Park. As a minimum the successful concessionaire must provide the following items at reasonable/market based prices: • Freshly brewed coffee and tea • Range of cold drinks • Range of cakes and pastries • Light snacks with variable seasonal menu Please see the tender documents for full details.
