Detailed Specification THE FOLLOWING ITEMS MUST BE COMPATIBLE WITH AND FULLY CERTIFIED FOR USE ON A PARR 6200 BOMB CALORIMETER Water Handling System 1 Water system to provide controlled means of filling calorimeter bucket with accurate volume of temperature controlled water. System must also serve as a source of temperature controlled water for maintaining calorimeter jacket temperature. The water handling system must have at least the following features; - Temperature controlled reservoir - Circulating pump - 2000ml glass delivery pipette - Filtration of water in system - Built in thermoelectric cooling Oxygen Combustion vessel 1 350ml oxygen combustion vessel capable of safely burning samples liberating up to a maximum of 800 calories per charge, using oxygen charging pressures up to 40 atm. Benzoic acid pellets 100 pellets Benzoic Acid pellets are used for standardising the oxygen bomb calorimeter. Each pellet of benzoic acid should be 1gram in weight. Gelatin capsule 100 capsules The two-piece gelatin capsules for handling volatile liquid samples. The capsules size required is 00 and should hold 0.9ml. Fuel Capsules 6 The capsules should be made from stainless steel and measure approx. 1” diameter and 7/16” deep. Non-volatile samples to be tested in the oxygen bombs will be weighed and burnt in the capsules. Pellet Press 1 Hand-operated pellet press for preparing powdered materials into tablet form for use in oxygen- bomb calorimeter tests. A ½” diameter punch in a removable die assembly is required. Calorimeter Printer (with USB connector) 1 A dedicated calorimeter dot matrix printer with USB interface with dedicated power supply.
