Cork County Council intend to install a floating pontoon and gangway on the foreshore adjacent to Ballycotton Pier, Ballycotton, Co. Cork. The pontoon will be used for ferry vessels that will transport passangers to and from Ballycotton island and will also be used by small craft users. The location of the pontoon is described on drawing C566/T/1/A. The tender is for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of a floating pontoon, access gangway, platform and miscellaneous infrastructure at Ballycotton Pier. The pontoon will be restrained in position using guide piles attached to the sheet piles and capping beam at the pier. The pontoon will go aground at low tide, therefore grounding brackets will be required to the pontoon. The pontoon will be accessed via a 20m. long aluminium gangway. The gangway will connect to a structural steel platform. A reinforced concrete ramp shall be constructed also.
