GR 08-14-1 - Biomass Dry Matter - up to 15% Moisture Content

Bord na Mona Energy Ltd is preparing RFT for its reqmt’s of Biomass Dry Matter - up to 15% M.C.as part of overall biomass requirements for co- fueling with peat in Bord Na Mona’s Edenderry Power Plant(EPL) (1st Jan’15 – 31st Dec'15). This is the first stage of a 2 stage tender/competition process. Stage 1 is a Pre- Qualification process, where potential suppliers are asked to respond with information etc to a number of questions. Following evaluation of the responses, successful potential suppliers will be issued an Invitation to Tender.. Estimated Delivery Schedule: Deliveries(in bulk) to the EPL - 6 loads of pellets by 6 days per week [Mon. to Sat - 7am to 5pm OR as scheduled by the power plant personnel] which equates to c.4,200 weighed tonnes per month. Delivery must be by walking floor trailer OR tipper trailer. No delivery of this product will be required during power plant outages (July/August 2015) + one additional outage - c.5 days. Estimated tonnage for 2015 - 42,000. Products approved by EPL are as per attached specifications( wood pellets, sunflower husk pellets, shea nut pellets) Other products may be considered provided they meet EPL specs. It is anticipated that companies will ship in c.5000 tonnes of product monthly, store at an Irish port and deliver as above. Each shipment when off- loaded at the port must be independently sampled and analyzed and the net cv determined for that shipment. Pricing per Gigajoule – Delivered to EPL (excl VAT). This is the basis on which BNM will pay for a particular shipment and tonnage as calculated on weighed tonnes across EPL weighbridge. BNM will have each shipment chemically analysed before transportation to Ireland to ensure compliance with Specification. Payment by BNM at end of month for deliveries in previous month as per net cv calculated at the port of discharge and weighed tonnes as delivered to power plant. NOTE - Contract may be awarded to one or more suppliers.
