GR 03/14 - 3 - Aquatic Survey - Aquatic Ecology Survey

Bord na Móna Plc and specifically Bord na Móna Energy Ltd have completed a high level feasibility study examining the potential for developing cutaway peat land and other adjacent lands in the east midlands area for the purposes of Wind Energy production. In order to inform the proposed development(s) a set of targeted baseline environmental surveys are being carried out. As part of the baseline environmental studies an aquatic ecology survey is required. The survey will be required to be carried out to the standard that will allow submission and utilisation of the data generated as part of an Environmental Impact Statement. The focus of the aquatic survey will be on those watercourses within the east midlands as well as the watercourses that receive surface water discharges from the existing on site surface water management network. The lands indentified include the following areas: • Ballydermot/Timahoe Bog group • Derrygreenagh Bog group
