GR 02/14 - 2 - Mammal Survey

Bord na Móna Plc and specifically Bord na Móna Energy Ltd have completed a high level feasibility study examining the potential for developing a large area of cutaway peat land and other adjacent areas as a single interconnected large scale wind farm. The energy generated by the development will be sent through one or two proposed interconnector(s) across the Irish Sea into the UK. In order to inform the proposed development a set of targeted baseline environmental surveys are required. As part of the baseline environmental studies a Mammal survey is required. The survey will be required to be carried out to the standard that will allow submission and utilisation of the data generated as part of an Environmental Impact Statement. The lands indentified include the following areas: • Ballydermot/Timahoe Bog group • Derrygreenagh Bog group
