Rapid evidence reviews - Rapid evidence reviews supporting the work of drug and alcohol taskforces

The Health Research Board invites tenders by open competition to deliver and disseminate an evidence review (s) relating to the work of drug and alcohol drug taskforces in one or both of the following topics: • the efficacy/effectiveness of prevention programmes outside the school setting; • the contribution of community drug treatment services to recovery from drug use The HRB is planning to publish a series of evidence reviews on interventions in the areas of drug and alcohol prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and harm reduction. The Department of Health has requested the HRB undertake these reviews and have approved the topics selected. The reviews will provide evidence support to stakeholders working on the implementation of selected actions under the Interim National Drugs Strategy 2009-16 (NDS) and will facilitate them to make evidence-based decisions on the selection, implementation and evaluation of interventions. This is particularly the case for the Drugs and Alcohol Task Forces (DATF) who implement the NDS at regional and local level and coordinate community- based responses.
